With only 13 days to go until my first race at the US Masters Track Championships in Colorado Springs, most of my time is spent putting the icing on the speed cake... The method of attack for finding the final crumbs of top end speed is motorpacing on Lagoon Drive near Honolulu International Airport. It's a pancake flat out and back drag strip about 3km each way. No traffic lights, no cross walks... The only distraction is the occasional FedEx truck hurtling towards the depot.

Chasing O'Shea's Mazda minivan = fast. All 4 MP intervals averaged well above 30mph topping out at 41mph. Not bad for 53 x 14 (fixed gear).
Before the motorpacing on Tuesday evening, I had a morning workout - My first one since crashing in (but still winning) Sunday's criterium - A few sets of short intervals at 6am. I wasn't sure what to expect after the crash, but it went really good. I lost a bunch of skin from my right forearm which isn't making riding aerobars but, but I just pushed through it and got the intervals done.
